Rumor has it that Apple is set to announce its redesigned MacBook Pro next month or so, and additional details are slowly making their way to the surface. We already know that it will be armed with an OLED touchscreen display, which will be a first for Apple. Now we know of another detail, which will help set it further apart from other MacBooks.

According to the recent report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, its new design will bring forth a noticeably lighter build than other MacBooks. The current MacBooks start at 3.4 lbs for the 14-inch model and go up to 4.7 lbs for the 16-inch model. The lighter laptop will be possible thanks to the company utilizing smaller parts and reorganizing placements for components.

The internals for the OLED MacBook are said to feature the current, high-end M5 chips instead of the forthcoming M7 chips that could arrive sometime in early 2027. The report suggests Apple’s new laptop could arrive with the company’s new iPad mini with an OLED screen next month. So just in case you thought things were slowing down regarding new releases, you’ve been sadly mistaken.
