We knew it was coming and here it is. This is the sequel to the Chromebook Pixel. Google’s high-end Chromebook is back to show the rest of the manufacturers the way to creating a better one. On the outside, not really much has changed w/ it. I personally don’t mind as I enjoyed the aluminum, industrial + cornered design.
The new Pixel is a bit cheaper and has a better battery on board.
They managed to keep it at a decent weight as it is only 3.3lbs. It has a 12.85inch touchscreen display w/ 2560 x 1700 resolution w/ 239 ppi, backlit keyboard, glass trackpad, 720p wide-angle front-facing camera, 802.11ac along w/ 2.4GHz +5GHz Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth 4.0, stereo speakers, dual mics, 12-hour battery life, 2 USB Type-C ports, 2 USB 3.0 ports, SD card slot, headphone/mic combo jack, Intel HD 5500 handling the graphics, and supports 4K video out via DisplayPort or HDMI.
The new Pixel arrives in 2 flavors: the standard ($999) and the LS aka Ludicrous Speed version ($1299). The standard offers a 2.2GHz Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 32GB SSD. While the LS offers a 2.4GHz Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 64GB SSD. Both are available right now as it will ship within 1-2 business days.
