The BlackBerry Classic is a living homage to the high-point of their marketshare. It is comprised of a rubberized, textured rear that makes holding it a breeze. You should have no problems holding on to this phone w/o worrying about dropping it. The Power button is on the top of the device and the volume rocker is on the right-hand side. In-between the volume up + down lies a new smaller button that activates the Assistant app.
The screen on it offers a 3.5inch touchscreen LCD display w/ resolution of 720 x 720. The touchscreen is good and responsive. Its not going to replace any of the 1080p or 2K displays but it is adequate. Inside lies a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage expandable via microSD card. The processor works well enough for everyday tasks. When you start getting into gaming, it starts to show its age & inability. For a day-in-and day-out situations, it will be good enough. The QWERTY keyboard experience on a smartphone is pretty much extinct right now. But that doesn't mean Blackberry still can't make great ones. It has a 35-key back lit QWERTY keyboard. It's been a while since I've had to type on a physical keyboard for a phone. After having to bang out a few sentences, I was back like I never left. BB still nails it in the category. All-day.
Blackberry is one of those companies who's never been great at making cameras but they've done a better job than this. On the rear lies a 8MP camera which requires a ton of light to get a usable photo. Same goes for the 2MP front-facing shooter. In moderate lighting, you'll have to deal w/ a slow shutter speed as it takes way too long to capture a photo. I was hoping this part wouldn't be a classic but it is.
