Bad news for anyone slightly interested in the new BlackBerry Bold 9900 or 9930. The new BlackBerry 7 OS is not backward compatible like what they did with BlackBerry 6. So anyone with a Torch, Bold 9700, 9780, 9670, Curve 3G, or Pearl 3G is stuck as BlackBerry 6 is the last step fro your current phone. The new OS will more than likely have higher device hardware requirements to work. During a press briefing yesterday at BlackBerry World Conference, a RIM employee let everyone know that the current lineup of BlackBerry devices will not support the new OS 7. So anyone thinking about picking one and you recently upgraded your BB device, you are out of luck unless you can sell your device when the new Bold launches. As the new OS 7 offers Liquid Graphics, enhanced/voice activated Universal Search, HTML5 + new Javascript engine to the web browser, along with mobile hotspot abilities and 720p HD video recording.
