About a year ago, Canon took their 1st crack at a mirrorless camera w/ the EOS M3. Now they're looking to step things up w/ a newer mirrorless model. Introducing the EOS M5, Canon's latest take on a mirrorless shooter w/ a DSLR feel to it.
The features/specs are borrowed from their more high-end 80D DSLR. So you have a 24.2MP APS-C sensor, armed w/ Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS autofocus system to better tracking of subjects when shooting video, powered by their Digic 7 image processor, a 3.2inch touchscreen that flips out, 100-25,600 ISO, 7fps shooting, Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi.
Canon aims to take the crown for the best mirrorless shooter w/ this one. The fact of not offering a 4K video option, they may have already lost as damn-near all others do. The EOS M5 is due out sometime in early November starting at $980 for the body and $1100 for the body w/ kit lens setup.
