Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 Review:

The Best Budget ANC Headphones

As 2018 gets closer to an end, we got tons of products on deck to review.  One of them is the Plantronics BackBeat Go 810 headphones: their latest member of the Go line armed w/ ANC.  These are made to offer a bit more for than the Go 500 & 600 line of cans.

Plantronics has already made the best $80 headphones, great noise-canceling cans, superb earbuds, and now a more lightweight & affordable pairs of cans w/ ANC + dual EQs.  We’ve been using it for a few weeks now and we’re ready to talk about how well is it executed and good do they sound.

Its a mix of the BackBeat Go 600s & the BackBeat Pro 2s.

The overall look mirrors that of the BackBeat 600s but the earcups are oblong shaped like on the BackBeat Pro 2s.  You got a leatherette & memory foam design on the cups & headband.  They can still rotate the cups to rest them on your shoulders.  The overall fit is comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time.

Spoiler Alert: these sound great.

The Go 810 cans are armed w/ 40mm drivers w/ bass tube handling the audio output.  They offer a great sound that not too flat & not too bassy but still offering some punch behind it.  They’ve taken the Bass Boost feature from the Go 600s and turned it into a dual mode EQ (Balanced & Bright).  Both sound great but depending on what type of audio you’re listening to will depend on which one is for you.  Did we say that it offers a 164ft of wireless range?  Yeah, it does.  So if you’re new to the Plantronics sound, welcome to superb audio.

Glad to see Plantronics put ANC on something other than their Pro line.

So if you wanted affordable and good noise-canceling headphones from Plantronics, you would have to go w/ the $200 BackBeat Pro 2.  With these, you got another option but now w/ a dual mode Active Noise-Canceling feature on board.  Keep in mind that you need their app to toggle between the 2 modes and turning it off completely.  These work out really well in regards to blocking out background noise.  I work around machines constantly running and does a good job of blocking about most of the noise.  I would say about 70-80% of it.  Perhaps not to the levels of Bose & Sony but pretty damn close to it.

Better battery life than any other Plantronics headset.

Usually, Plantronics gives their cans an 18-hour battery life but they made some adjustments this go round.  They gave the Go 810s 22 hours of juice w/ ANC on and 26 hours w/ ANC off.  This includes the quick-charging feature as well that offers 3 hours of juice w/ a 10-minute charge.  As per usual, they live up to their suggested battery projections.  Using these at work, I’d have to charge these about once every other week.  Which is amazing as I have way to many things to power up.

These are the best all-around, budget noise-canceling headphones you can buy right now.

So I definitely prefer these over the previous BackBeat Go models (Go 505 & 600).  The ANC addition is clutch to make these a great versatile pair of cans.  The Go 810s are still lightweight as they added more juice to their battery.  Easily making this ideal for your commute, travel, or everyday moves.

My only qualm about it was having to use the app to toggle between the levels of ANC via their BackBeat app.  Other than that, I got no other negative things to say about these cans.  These are another great addition to the Plantronics line as well.  You save some $ picking these up for only $150 instead of dropping $350 or more for other noise-canceling headphones.
