Say it ain’t so. (Devilish snicker) Have you secretly wanted an Iphone but didn’t want to join AT&T? No, just me huh? The days of having three cell phone accounts ended for me about 6 years ago, now I have 2 but always wanted to get in the Iphone market. I couldn’t allow AT&T to fondle my bills so I nurtured my relationship with T-Mo and hoped they will someday get their turn, in the states, to utilize Apple and the Iphone. Well that time is coming. The exclusivity rights was rumored to last only 5 years from launch in 2007. Now rumors are circulating that AT&T is negotiating to hold on to at least 2011, maybe Apple wants out. Apple officials aren’t saying but numbers don’t lie. When Apple ended exclusivity across seas with Orange, a France based Mobile Carrier, their marketshare increased by 40%. This occured just by opening up to different carriers. Stateside AT&T only has the Iphone market shares in the teens. With AT&T being noted for problems with their service at times, ending the Apple exclusive to Iphone may put AT&T back in to troubled waters.
