Game Informer recently did a 5,000 person study of gaming owners and out of that study, the 360 had a failure rate of 54.2%. The failure rate doesn’t suprise me at all. I purchased the Xbox360 when it first came out went through like 3 consoles that suffered from the dreaded red ring of death or system error E74. The upside is that Microsoft’s warranty will repair your 360 for free up to 3 years after console purchase. And to compare with the other consoles, the PS3 had a 10.6% failure rate and the Wii 6.8%.
