During this weekend, the internet was going crazy over a new device being beta tested by Google employees dubbed the Google Phone (codenamed Nexus One). The Nexus One looks like the HTC Dragon/Passion that was photo’d & talked about a little while back. Thus far little is known about this device other than it runs Android 2.1 OS, has a Snapdragon processor, dual mics for noise reduction & advanced voice-to-text features, manufactured by HTC, a GSM device, sold unlocked to support both T-Mobile and AT&T’s 3G bands, and should expect to launch early January 2010.
This could be a developer device like the MyTouch3G/Magic was the Google Ion given to developers shortly before they launched commercially. The device is definitely real but an actual Google Phone out would definitely piss off the other Android supporters on the Open Handset Alliance. Time will tell what is what but in the meantime plug this as a Google Phone in the rumor column.
