Kotaku.com has found some interesting figure averages about the income of those working in the gaming industry. I know many may have wondered exactly how much do these folk make such as myself and thought this piece could answer some of your questions. Believe it or not, there’s actually a book on this called the Gamer Developer Salary Survey which breaks down the income by your position. As much work the programmers put into these games that we love, they do not make more money than someone on the business/marketing side of gaming. The executives of course see good money like $129,167 annually along with those on the marketing side clear $83,804 annually. Below shows more of the annual income on average for the year of 2009:
Programming: $80,320
Art and Animation: $71,071
Game Design: 69,266 ($61,859 not counting creative directors and design leads)
Production: $75,082
Audio: $82,085
