Earlier this week, Yahoo! announced a dedicated Yahoo! Mail and Messenger app for Android devices. Before only Gmail by Google offer push email notification support for Android devices and now those with Yahoo! email accounts can now enjoy these features as well. Unfortunately both the Yahoo! Mail & Messenger apps are only available for the Droid, Droid Incredible, and the Nexus One. Keep reading to view the full list of features for both apps.

Yahoo! Messenger for Android offers:
- Easily message friends, check friends’ status updates & availability as well as update their own status & availability
- Send instant messages to friends via SMS text messages*
- Stay connected with full support for multitasking allowing the app to work in the background; with push notifications consumers can easily catch new messages and friend requests
- Full use of emoticons and rich text formatting
- Send photos to friends directly from the phone’s camera or the photo gallery
