Phonescoop got the scoop on some major features that will be absent when the Motorold Droid gets the Android 2.2 update. Odd that Verizon would pull two of the more attractive features that comes stock with 2.2. They spoke with a Verizon rep in regards to the matter and they has this to say:
“The Droid by Motorola doesn’t have the hardware to support a Mobile Hotspot. With tethering there is no Connection on the PC side that will allow you to tether the device so the answer is that option isn’t part of this update.”
Other than those two, 2.2 will still offer Flash 10.1 support, voice dialing w/ Bluetooth, faster Javascript for browsing, camera improvements, along with other enhancements. Verizon will test out 2.2 to a small group of Droid users before doing a full-fledged launch to all.
