Saudi Arabia and RIM worked out a compromise to the whole BlackBerry service banning thing.  Although they did impose a ban of BlackBerry devices, it only lasted for four hours until services were restored.   Their compromise hopefully will get agreements with the other countries planning on banning RIM’s services (Indonesia, UAE, India).   The agreement details are below after the jump.

The agreement would involve placing a BlackBerry server inside Saudi Arabia to allow the government to monitor messages and allay official fears the service could be used for criminal purposes, the official said.

Saudi Arabia is giving three of their carriers 48 hours to test out their new agreement to see if RIM’s new servers meets their demands before continuing with its BlackBerry ban.
