You read the title right, soon you will be able to make phone calls from your Gmail account. Over the next few days Google will roll out this feature, you will see a “Call Phone” button and will need to download a voice and video plug-in. Gmail calls to the US and Canada will be free for the rest of the year and will offer cheap rates to other countries like to the UK, France, Germany, China, Japan, and other countries. Of course Gmail calling will support Google Voice as your GV number will be used for calls if you have a GV account. Google is definitely offering Skype some competition with this new added feature.
