The government in India was near banning BlackBerry email services from RIM. India wanted to have access to monitor BlackBerry users’ email and without it they were threatening to ban RIM’s services from India. RIM, not wanting to lose business, provided them the necessities for local security agencies could monitor BlackBerry service and when need be, tap into them. The Indian government will give RIM 60 days to review the protocols in the meantime. Another international BlackBerry ban has been avoided thanks to RIM’s cooperation.
