Nikon announced three new cameras on their CoolPix series each catering to the different level of photography enthusiasts.   Starting off with the P7000 which brings DSLR performance/options to a point-and-shoot camera.  The P7000 is a 10MP shooter armed with a 28-200mm lens capable of 7.1x zoom and can capture video in 720p HD at 24 fps.   The P7000 has a leg up on its competitors by offering a large optical viewfinder where other do not.   The P7000 offers image stabilization, motion detection, High ISO up to 6400, in-camera editing, Mic Input Jack and HDMI Out.  This will become available late September for $499.95.  The other two cameras are after the break below.

Next up we have the CoolPix S80 which is your standard point-and-shoot camera with beefy specs and available in marketable colors.   The S80 is a 14.1MP shooter with a 5x optical zoom, records video in 720p HD, and a 3.5inch OLED touchscreen display which gives you the ability to write/draw on pics during playback.  The S80 has built-in editing/retouching abilities along with Face/Smile Detection, in-camera red-eye fix, motion detection and image stabilization.  It is expected to become available sometime this fall for $329.95 in red, black, blue, pink, gold, and silver/brown colors.

And finally we have the CoolPix S8100 which is another point-and-shoot camera specializing in full HD quality.    The S8100 is a 12.1MP shooter with a 10x optical zoom, records video in 1080p HD, and the ability to capture shots at 120 fps while in Sports Continuous mode.   The S8100 has 3inch anti-glare display and is armed with options like in-camera red-eye fix, image stabilization, night landscape mode (which takes full advantage of the low-light sensor), blink timer, and smile timer.  The S8100 will become available in late September for $299.95 and will come in black, red, and gold colors.
