The newest iPhone on the way out may not be equipped to support 4G LTE, it may not support CDMA also. It rumored to be armed with a dual-mode GSM/CDMA radio to offer worldwide support to the different 3G bands around the globe. It is slated that Apple doesn’t want to be a guinea pig for the carriers’ 4G networks and want to focus on the current technologies at hand in order to make a clean transition to 4G. With that said, Apple is said to release their sixth generation, 4G-compatible iPhone sometime mid-2012. Around such a time, the popular carriers will should have their 4G networks running efficiently like Verizon and AT&T. If this turns out to be true, definitely a good move to make the iPhone more available and to slowly transition to 4G like they did with their first incarnation at EDGE to 3G speeds.
