Effective immediately, Netflix is now available as a download from the Wii Shop Channel for a disc-free instant streaming experience.   All that is required is the $8.99 Netflix plan ($7.99 Canada) and an internet connection to turn your Wii into streaming movie machine.  PS3 disc-free instant streaming becomes effective today as well.  So as annoying as it may have been, using that disc has become a thing of the past like Sony’s MiniDisc.   Check out the official release after the break.
