BGR was lucky enough to link up with some RIM employees to get up close and personal with BlackBerry PlayBook.    They was able show a good 10 minute video on the QNX-powered tablet by RIM.   Key points about the PlayBook show:

  • Smooth transitions and zero lag present.
  • Onscreen keyboard will support multi-touch.
  • Media (including video) can be minimized to play in the background.
  • Only physical buttons on PlayBook are only the Power button and Volume rocker.
  • The PlayBook is completely gesture-based navigation via the bezel ( swipe up to exit app, swipe up from the bottom left to access the keyboard, and swipe from the right to toggle full screen/normal screen).
