Many of you won’t want to use this feature but for those of you looking to spare the battery life a little bit. Maybe you don’t live in an area where Verizon 4G LTE network or get into an emergency situation where your battery life needs to be preserved to make a phone call. Keep reading below to get started on turning off the 4G switch on your ThunderBolt.
- Dial: *#*#4636#*#*
- Choose “Phone Information”
- Change preferred network to “CDMA auto (PRL)”
- Back out of the screen and you have a 3G-only ThunderBolt
To get the 4G back, repeat previous steps and choose “CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto”
