Effective yesterday, Google’s new Chromebooks are now available for purchase on either Amazon or Best Buy online. Acer has a Chromebook available in Wi-Fi or 3G versions offering Google’s cloud-based OS, Chrome on a 11.6inch HD display, powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB SSD, 2 USB ports, 4-in-1 memory card slot, HDMI port, and a webcam. The Acer’s Wi-Fi version is priced at $379.99 while the 3G one will cost you $429.99. The other Chromebook is the Samsung Series 5 also available in Wi-Fi or 3G flavors. The Series 5 offers a 12.1inch LED display, powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB SSD, 2 USB ports, 4-in-1 memory card slot, and a webcam.
