I have been pondering this thought for a while now. I have been a loyal amateur BB6 user since it’s arrival and felt it was a welcomed look for the dated 5.0. Previous to my Bold 9700 I had not owned a Blackberry but helped set up hundreds of them from the early 6200 series to the more current Bold 9780. With new devices on the way they have changed their OS from a crappy 4.5 ( they were stuck there for a while) to this new 7.0 that may very well be welcomed but possibly a little to late to the party.

We have all seen it before, the big name is on the horizon, Research In Motion, the game changer and everyone is on board…..and we all wait to leave the station. And we wait……and wait……you get the idea. This is what Windows did to us and though they finally delivered with Windows Phone 7 (surprisingly good but still late) they have lost a bit of their market. RIM is following in their footsteps like a kid brother who doesn’t want to disappointment their older sibling and though they are promising great changes and more innovation it is late and costing them customers.

Let’s hope that with this new QNX and 7 OS that RIM can make a strong competitor in the coming fiscal year.  Let’s not forget that Apple is still leading in the game with everything that it brings to the table thus far.  Microsoft still staying afloat with Windows Phone 7 and all of their glorious  devices that have been released. (Just a bit of sarcasm.)
