Earlier this week Google announced the ability to make multiple calls (voice, video, & phone) using Gmail. The new feature allows you place one call on hold while placing another call with the ability to switch between the two. This feature also works for incoming calls as well. Of course it allows for a maximum of two outgoing calls to physical phones at a time. Definitely makes a great point to use or obtain a Gmail account to enjoy these features as well as not seeing your spam.
