Thanks to 9to5Mac, we have seen several images of what could possibly end up as the official iPhone 5 Apple plans to launch. With both iOS 5 and Apple’s up-and-coming hardware on the way, everyone from analysts, bloggers, & consumers alike are in quite an impatient frenzy. Everyone is curious as to what the new phone may look like as there were rumors of an iPhone w/o a Home button as well as a radical new design like the teardrop mockup.

On the spec-side of things, rumors would suggest that the i5 will have slightly larger screen (3.7 or 4inch), powered by the same 1GHz dual-core A5 processor that the iPad 2 uses, an 8MP camera sensor capable of 1080p HD video capture, and NFC support. New cases of something that measures to be a tad larger than the current iPhone 4 has been spotted as well. With the new cases offering different dimensions, does this mean the i5 will be thinner, longer, and a half inch wider? That is possible.

And now with recent rumblings of the release date now to be slated for October as everyone was waiting for September announcement and launch. There were reports of AT&T blacking out the end of September vacations in order to prep for the launch. This may or may not be valid. At this point unless someone leaves it lying around a bar like what happened to the iPhone 4 last year, we will have no choice but to wait for an official announcement from Steve Jobs himself. Rumors suggest Sprint & possibly T-Mobile joining AT&T and Verizon as carriers offering the iPhone. Ok. Consider yourself briefed.
