This morning there was a huge announcement of a major deal.  Google is buying Motorola Mobility for $12.5 billion dollars.  Google’s last huge purchase was DoubleClick for $3.2 billion.  Google certainly has plans for this ever changing mobile market.

Larry Page, CEO of Google says, ” Motorola Mobility’s total commitment to Android has created a natural fit for our two companies.  Together we will create amazing user experiences that supercharge the entire Android ecosystem for the benefit of consumers, partners, and developers.”  This should be their mission statement, it sounds about right. January was the official split of Motorola Mobility and the rest of Motorola and from that point the Android OS was the base for all Motorola Mobility devices.  You can check out some of their recent devices here.
