More BlackBerry blunders arise as Sprint tells the Wall Street Journal that they will not offer a 4G WiMAX version of the BlackBerry PlayBook. Sprint’s president of business markets to the Journal,
“It’s an interesting concept, it just hasn’t caught on with business customers as much as they would like. There are so many tablets in the market, it creates confusion for the average customer.”
This decision to not offer the 4G PlayBook will not affect Sprint’s relationship with RIM as they will still launch their latest BlackBerry 7 devices. However, RIM is still moving forward with 4G LTE PlayBooks. RIM is currently testing their QNX tablets w/ LTE as they should receive the proper certifications and launch for US carriers (AT&T and Verizon) as well as international carriers.
Is anyone looking forward to a LTE PlayBook? Or does the iPad or an Android tablet has your eye? Let us know.
