RIM’s developer conference DevCon is two weeks away as they get closer to unveiling the PlayBook’s big OS update and more news on their first QNX BlackBerry smartphone.   The people at CrackBerry were tipped off that RIM will rename their smartphone OS in honor of QNX to BlackBerry X or BBX for short.   The X doesn’t stand for the Roman numeral 10, just X as in the 23rd letter in the alphabet.   We’ll see if the new 2.0 update for their only tablet and a rebranding of the OS for phones can save the brand in this time of turmoil as other mobile platforms are on the rise.  I’m rooting for you BlackBerry, even if I go to iOS.
