Now that the iPhone 4S is out and there’s plenty of time for the iPhone 5 rumors to circulate. The next big Apple product due for an update is the only tablet that is making $$$: the iPad. But not just one but two iPads slated to release according to DigiTimes latest reports. Apple plans on covering all bases to wipe the floor with Android tablets by offering a high-end and mid-range iPad with the iPad 2 becoming a low-end model (all models will have a 9.7inch display).
The high-end model is rumored to offer a 1536 x 2048 display resolution courtesy of dual-LED light bars, the A6 processor (a quad-core chipset), 8MP camera, and a 14,000 mAh battery for an extreme battery life. The mid-range model is slated to ship equipped with a 5MP shooter while the rest of the details remain unknown while turning the current iPad 2 into the budget model with a lower price point.
What is even more interesting is that both are due out next month. The new iPads are allegedly supposed to be announced at this year’s MacWorld now iWorld (which kicks off in January 26th). If true, this will be different from Apple’s usual pattern of updating their products. Perhaps Mr. Cook is looking to shake thing sup a little bit? Time will have to tell on this one.
