Apple has officially brought the entire iLife suite of apps to iOS with the addition of iPhoto. The iPhoto app gives iOS users the ability of in-house photo editing by using finger brushes, full control of a photo’s color, exposure, and contrast all from swiping and multitouch gestures. You can also create photo journals and use filters to give your pics a huge effect. Like all of the iLife iOS apps expect ot pay for it as iPhoto will cost you $4.99 to make it yours.
Next up we have GarageBand for iOS getting a big update and adding new tricks up its sleeve. GB now gives users the ability to conduct an orchestra with the new touch instrument Smart Strings, change little things with your composition with Note Editor for perfecting your melody, and last but not least is the new Jam Session feature that allows friends/bandmates/collaborators to wirelessly play & record music together. The new Session feature supports up to four iOS users to rock out with either your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. The update is free for those who already own it while everyone else will be subject to the $4.99 fee.
Then we have iMovie for iOS getting a noticable update for you to enjoy. Now with iMovie you can create movie trailers using one of the 9 templates, freeze a frame by swiping up, add soundtracks to your movies using music from Hans Zimmer and the London Symphony Orchestra to name a few, and preview music and sound effects in the Audio Browser. Like the rest of the iLife for iOS, free updates for current owners and $4.99 for late comers.
And lastly we have iWork which now supports landscape typing for iPhone & iPod Touch users in Pages, you can now create/view 3D, bar, line, area, and pie charts, and now has new transitions using Keynote. The updated iWork is ready to visually support the new iPad’s Retina Display but in order to grab it, you need to upgrade to iOS 5.1. Whew! What a day of treats for Apple.
