Google has ditched the Android Market in favor of Google Play as it is rebranding Google Music, Books, video, and its entire app ecosystem.   Google Play takes everything you have within the Android ecosystem and makes it cloud-based.   Giving the ability to start a video or other media on one Android device and finish it on another device.   Think of it as Android’s answer to iCloud and iTunes Match.  Anyone using an Android device running OS 2.2 or higher should expect to see an update ‘in coming days’.  Looks like Google is looking to refresh the entire Android experience.   It would be a lot better if the carriers/manufacturers didn’t have as much control of their OS update schedule and Google had more of a Apple-like grip on the matter.
