Yesterday, Samsung & Google announced the latest products running the updated version of Google’s Chrome OS.  The folks over at Google took their time to update & make their Chrome OS more useful and more like an OS rather than an extension of the browser.  Last year Google launched the Chromebooks partnering with Acer & Samsung and are back again with another netbook running the OS.


The new Samsung Series 5 550 Chromebook offers a 12.1inch display w/ 1280 x 800 resolution, powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, Wi-Fi b/g/n support, ethernet port, 2 USB ports, built-in HD webcam, 4-in-1 memory card slot, and a display out all for $449.99 for the Wi-Fi only model.  You can get the 3G model for $549.99 w/100MB of data free courtesy of Verizon.

The Samsung Series 3 Chromebox offers a 1.9GHz Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM, 6 USB ports, Wi-Fi b/g/n support, ethernet port, Bluetooth 3.0, DVI output, and 2 display outputs all for $329.99.   The Chromebox is exactly how it looks, a Mac Mini computer dedicated to running the Chrome OS.
