As if Microsoft didn’t already have big plans for taking over every household on with their top-selling gaming console.   According to well-placed sources at The Verge, Microsoft is now planning on stepping on Google’s turf by bringing Internet Explorer to the Xbox.   Google has been doing this with their Google TV set-top boxes but haven’t been selling as well as they have hoped.

Microsoft would bring a version of Internet Explorer 9 to the gaming console equipped with Kinect gestures, voice commands, and Bing Search integration.  The motion-sensing accessory would not be a requirement to use IE9 on the Xbox.   Their sources would have us to expect an official announcement from Microsoft in a few weeks.
