According to the Apple specialists 9to5Mac, the newest generation iPhone will sport a redesigned dock connector and have a slightly bigger screen w/ an even higher resolution. The current model has been sporting a 3.5inch Retina Display (and has been the screen size the first iPhone) w/ 960 x 640 resolution and a 3:2 aspect ratio. They have been informed on two iPhone prototypes both w/ a larger screen as the iPhone 5,1 & the iPhone 5,2. Both are at the pre-engineering verification stages of testing.
These new iPhones sport a 3.95inch display w/ 1136 x 640 resolution adding an extra 176 pixels to the iOS device as seen in the image above. This gives developers a way to port over apps without having to completely redesign it, just merely update according to the resolution. This new display will also bring the iPhone closer to 16:9 aspect ratio for an even more crisp video playback.
In addition, the dock connector is supposed to now smaller. The new port size will range between a micro-USB & mini-USB connectors. Expect a smaller physical Home button and a fifth row of apps courtesy of iOS6. Sounds like great changes are on the horizon for the iPhone.
