Well today was the big day where Apple’s iPhone 5 launched and the UPS guy just dropped ours off. We wanted to share our initial thoughts on Apple’s newest. They are offering a slightly updated software and a taller, more precise designed hardware. Check out our first glance thoughts on the i5.

- The new iPhone 5 is very lightweight. There is a very noticeable weight difference between the 4S and the 5. It is also thinner as you can easily see and appreciate the new steps taken in Apple’s design of the i5.
- The new speakers on pretty great as it offers better clarity in the audio making the i4S speakers sound tinny and with a slight echo.
- The EarPods earphones surprisingly performed great. With audio coming out of three areas of the buds, it offers a great balance of bass & clarity.
- The new 4inch display w/ 1136 x 640 resolution looks great as it looks brighter and slightly improved color reproduction.
- There is a speedier difference when using the i5 and the i4S. The i5 does offer double the RAM at 1GB and double the graphics & speed with the 1GHz dual-core A6 chipset.
- The camera is definitely much faster at processing photos and the new Panorama and the ability to record video while taking photos is quite snappy. The 1.2MP front-facing shooter looks better than any front-side camera I’ve seen.
- The new iOS 6 offers a bag of mixed emotions. Apple added some things it was severely lacking, made some debatable changes (like Maps, while keeping the OS relatively the same.
