Yesterday, Microsoft shed some light on availability for the upcoming Windows Phone 7.8 update coming to the older WP devices. Just to get some of you up to speed, the WP7.8 update is for those using any Windows Phone prior to the Lumia 920, 822, 810, 8X, or 8S to offer some WP8 features. Features like the ability to customize the size of live tiles, more accent/theme colors, and update lock screen. Unfortunately WP8 isn’t compatible with the previous hardware so you’re gonna be stuck with this.
Microsoft is working diligently to get this update rolled out to devices by early 2013. Ouch! This is definitely the downside of being an early adopter to a new/redesigned platform. You guys are the casualties as most of you are probably still on contract.
