In a otherwise quiet news day, the Wall Street Journal reports that Google is working with Motorola to create flagship Android devices to rival Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy S series. Dubbed the X Phone and to be joined by the X Tablet shortly afterwards. Think a mesh of Verizon’s Droid series and Google Nexus devices with premium build/materials involved.
There are talks of bendable but durable displays along with ceramic materials being a part of the X Phone construction. There are also mentions of image & gesture recognition courtesy of Viewdle (which was acquired by Motorola Mobility. We already know Motorola knows how to make an Android with an awesome battery life. As long they get better optics and a more innovative design schemes, this could be the killer Android device of 2013.
