Looks like all of the previous rumors are pretty much true in regards to what Samsung has been working since their last flagship Android device last year. The Galaxy S4 offers a lightweight polycarbonate body that weighs in at only 130g and only 7.9mm thick. The mouthful of details lie past the break.
The Galaxy S4 offers a 5inch Super HD AMOLED display w/ 1080p HD + 441ppi, powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, armed with a 13MP rear-facing + 2MP front-facing shooter both capable of 1080p HD video, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB/64GB w/ microSD slot, running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean w/ TouchWiz UX, 2600 mAh battery, and a IR blaster. But that’s not where the newest Galaxy shines…its the software.
As the leaks revealed, you have Smart Scroll where you can scroll through web pages, etc with your eyes. Smart Pause allows the device to stop scrolling when you turn away. This was based off of the Galaxy S III Smart Stay feature. You also have the Air View feature when you hover your finger like on the Note II.
The dual cameras uses both cameras at the same time to catch videos + photos so the photographer can always be in the shot or video as well as video calls. The cameras offer Sound & Shot which records audio which you can record before or after you take the photo. You set the shooter to Eraser mode to get rid of photo bombers.
You have the S Translator app which can transcribe audio in over 9 languages. The app also translate written text from papers, menus, etc. The display will automatically adjust the brightness when change different media. It also does the same with audio being played. The display is glove-friendly where you don’t need to buy special gloves for it.
Samsung is looking for a full launch sometime in April. AT&T, Sprint, & T-Mobile called dibs as we are just waiting for Verizon’s announcement/reservation page. And now time for some hands-on time with it. Look for it coming up shortly.
