Many consumers loved the iPad mini when it launched but some were awaiting for the Retina version. That moment could be upon us before the end of the year. According to CNET, who spoke with NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim, Apple is on track to to launch their refreshed iPad mini w/ Retina display sometime within the 3rd quarter of the year. The internals would be same as the current model but with a display w/ double the resolution. A newer Retina mini w/ new internals could launch as early as the 1st quarter of 2014 so you may want to wait for that one if you can.
