A bit of more bad news with the Xbox One coming from Ars Technica. While the next-gen Xbox ships with the new Kinect, Microsoft took out the chat headset from the packaging. In other words, expect consumers/gamers to use the Kinect for all of their chatting needs. They must have never played Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 or any other Xbox Live multiplayer game with the massive amount of racial slurs and senseless profanity. We’ll see if a public outcry can persuade them to change their minds but I doubt that will work this time.
Update:
The good news is that the headphones you use for your Xbox 360 will indeed work on the Xbox One w/ an adapter. This was confirmed by the console’s lead planner via Twitter as the technology inside of the new controller, the port had to be changed to support it. So you can save yourself $25 just as long as the adapter doesn’t cost the same amount.
