Just when you thought you knew everything about the next-generation Xbox console – think again.  Over the weekend, Microsoft Game Studios were on hand at the kick-off to Comic-Con San Diego at an Xbox One developers panel.  IGN Editor-In-Chief Steve Butts was present and shared all of the cool news with the world.

  • In case you were wondering why the put such a huge amount of storage on the next-gen Xbox, I got your answer in two words: Game DVR.  That’s right.  The Xbox One gives you the option to record a 30-second clip or the last 5 minutes of gameplay by simply saying: “Xbox, record that.”
  • In combination with the Kinect camera & controller sensors, it will recognize you when you are playing to automatically load up your profile & preferred controller settings.  This can come in handy when sharing turns with friends.
  • Speaking of the new Kinect, it can help make your avatar look more like you by scanning 3D model of your face to it.   Along with this, it will read your facial expressions in real-time to show on your avatar.
  • And lastly, you can setup/send out multiplayer game invites and continue playing a different game until everyone in your party is ready.
They definitely elaborated more on some of the features/abilities they touched on at the unveiling.

Are you still pre-ordering the Xbox One? Or the PS4? Or just sticking with your current console?  Sounds off in the comments.
