According to the well-placed sources over at The Verge, Nokia’s reign of Windows Phone devices is far from over.   After innovating on the optics-side of WP w/ the Lumia 1020, they are ready to push the envelope a bit further.  The forthcoming Nokia device is codenamed the Bandit and it is set to be the first monster of the Windows phone platform.

Nokia’s bandit will be at the forefront to push Windows Phone to the next level.

The Bandit is said to offer a 6inch 1080p HD display, powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor, and at least a 20MP Pure View camera on the rear.  All within a thin + lightweight, polycarbonate shell.   This will lead other manufacturers in 1080p displays for Microsoft’s mobile platform.  Of course some software changes will have to be made to support the higher-resolution displays like: an extra row for Live Tiles along w/ a new update to the software to add rotation lock, Driving mode, and more UI changes.
AT&T is currently testing the Bandit for a release later this year.  AT&T is grabbing all of the new toys ahead of the pack.
