As you already know, its always hard to tell these days with all of these different reports on Apple rumors. Most can be marked up highly skeptical while others are usually from more reliable sources. This is the latter. The folks over at the Wall Street Journal, Apple is prepping for a 4th quarter launch of the iPad mini w/ a high resolution display.
They are actually grabbing displays the 2nd-generation minis from three sources: LG, Sharp, & Samsung. There are also talks of Apple toying with the idea of a variety of colors for the back plate but this idea may not make it to actual production.
The question still remains on everyone’s mind: will we get a refreshed mini or a Retina one? Who knows. We could get both for all we know. Good thing the 4th quarter isn’t too far away to find out.
