So long Key Lime Pie, Hello KitKat. The next version of Android to be released has had a name change. It was long understood that the next significant version of Android will be called Key Lime Pie. Today however things to have changed. Google has struck a deal with Nestle and will now be naming the new version of Android KitKat. Sundar Pichai, senior vice president of Android made it official via his Google+ page posting a pic of the new Android KitKat statue.  While no $$$ was exchanged, this will be a cross-promotional deal nonetheless according to the BBC

So Long Key Lime Pie, Make Way For KitKat.
It appears that the version number of the next Android release has changed as well. It was long excepted the next version of Android would be 5.0, but with the release of KitKat it has been made official that it will be version 4.4. Unfortunately there aren’t any real details about the upcoming software release, however a new statue is usually a good indication that the next release will be here VERY soon.
