As you all know, Apple’s is holding another event this Tuesday. The next-generation iPads (full-sized & mini) are on the way but we all know w/ Apple, there’s always more. And seen form the invites that went out, that is exactly what they have in store.
Here Comes The New iPads
After refreshing their mobile operating system and updating the iPhone to the S + C models, now its time for the iPads. Apple is said to redesign the 9.7inch full-sized tablet to sport the new slimmer bezel seen on the iPad mini to better compliment the addition to the Lightning connector. In regards to the mini, we will get what we’ve been waiting for: a Retina iPad mini. There is word of Apple still offering an updated non-Retina mini as well but not sure how this will pan out. All new iOS tablets will be powered by their new 64-bit A7 CPU and improved optics for both the front & rear cameras. No confirmation of Touch ID coming tot he iPads but the wait isn’t that long.
The Mac Gets An Update w/ Mavericks
Apple didn’t forget about the software for the Macs, they are set to announce availability as rumors peg it for sometime late this month/early next month. The new Mavericks update is bragging over 200 new features its bringing to the table like tabbed Finder windows, improved support for multiple displays, allows you computer to work better with Apple TV – you can now use your HDTV as a 2nd screen, Safari gets updated with a new Bookmarks bar & improved performance, better password management with iCloud keychain, notifications are enhanced with better syncing between iOS and Mac, and more. The pricing will probably be the same as Mountain Lion w/ a $20 upgrade.
Can’t Have A New Mac Update Without New Macs (Sort Of)
Alongside OS X Mavericks, Apple also unveiled the completely redesigned Mac Pro at WWDC. The new cylinder design pushes the envelop inside and out. Inside it is powered by next-gen Intel Xenon E5 processors (up to 12 cores) and like all of the more recent Macs, don’t expect a built-in optical drive. We can expect to get pricing and availability for it but mind you it will be expensive. Also expect the lovely Retina MacBook Pros to get a nice update to add longer battery life thanks Intel’s new Haswell processors.
There is a possibility of a refreshed Mac mini and a Apple TV.
Check back w/ us this Tuesday, October 22nd at 1PM EST as the event kicks off.
