After being pretty much revealed through previous leaks, HTC finally unveiled the One Max to the world.  And it looks like almost everything that was previously rumored, seemed to come to true for the most part.  There were a few things of course that I would have liked to see like: stylus support or running Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 800 processor.  But alas, we pretty much got the One borrowing some build quality form the One mini.

“HTC took a different approach w/ their fingerprint scanner.”
The One Max is crafted from a mix of aluminum and plastic as a 5.9inch 1080p LCD display handles the visuals, powered by a quad-core 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU, 2GB of RAM, choice of 16GB or 32GB of storage, running Android 4.3 w/ Sense 5.5 UI, the same 4MP Ultrapixel camera + 2.1MP in front, and front-facing Boom Sound speakers.  Good news is that there is a removable backing that allows for microSD cards but the 3300 mAh battery is not.
HTC took a different approach to the finger print scanner as it works by pressing your finger then swiping and can scan up to three different fingers to open up a different app based on each print.  Sounds interesting.  Not sure if it will be a good as Apple’s Touch ID but we look forward to comparing the two biometric scanners.
The One Max is set to launch overseas mid-to-late October.  No word as of yet for any US availability but the press release notes Verizon & Sprint LTE support.  So we can at least expect those tow carriers to offer it, hopefully sometime before the end of the year.
