Lenovo has set out to change the way we look at tablets, literally. They have taken their stylish Yoga Tablet and incorporated a multi-mode kickstand and a very well placed 18 hour battery and truly changed the look of the modern day tablet.  A Better Way is truly here and it has a great style to it.

“The time and thought to have come up with the Yoga Tablet was very personal and well thought out”

After spending sometime with the Yoga Tablet, it is clear that Lenovo seems to have really been working hard on creating such an innovative and ergonomically device.  The time and thought to have come up with the Yoga Tablet was very personal and well thought out, my opinion and I am sticking with it.  With three different modes you can comfortably handle this tablet.  The Yoga Tablet is designed in such a way that all three modes are purposeful, useful, and unobtrusive to other functions of the tablet.

The sides of the Yoga Tablet have everything you need to access the tablet.  The power button and charging port for a micro usb cable are located on one side. On the opposite side you will find your earphone jack as well as the volume rocker, all neatly placed out of the way and easily accessible and a microphone for chat purposes.  At first glance you don’t notice it but it also has two cameras all ideally positioned for functionality.

Let’s talk a little bit about the multi-modes.  This was first presented to us in the original Lenovo Yoga laptop.  The special hinging mechanism allows for a variety of viewing capabilities, which made the Yoga the #1 product for Lenovo over the last 12 months. The Yoga Tablet is no different.

Hold Mode allows for easy reading while holding the Yoga Tablet.  It feels very natural just like holding a book. This angle may also be very useful when taking pictures or videos.  The camera is designed on the back, close to the side where the power button is to allow a comfortable grip while using the Hold Mode.

Tilt Mode allows you to easily tilt the screen, using the kickstand in one of 2 positions, to get a great viewing angle depending on how you are positioned.  This viewing angle would come in handle when playing games or laying down in bed while watching you favorite video or movie.
Stand Mode allows you to use the kickstand and have your screen face forward in the most upright position for dead on viewing, almost as you would your desktop or laptop.  This may be preferable for viewing movies with others or video conferencing.  I can imagine this may be the more popular used position for the 10 inch version of the Yoga Tablet, especiallly if the accessory keyboard cover is picked up.  Unlike other devices the keyboard does not attach to the Yoga Tablet when in use, but just to secure your device when storing or transporting it.

Overall Lenovo has a great device  that is stylish and at a wonderful price point.  In a nutshell you can get either an 8 inch or a 10 inch tablet from Lenovo for less than $300. It runs 4.2 Android, has an expandable memory slot of up to 64 gb, front and rear cameras and dual speakers on the front.  If you get the accessory keyboard case you have pretty much built your own ChromeBook with Lenovo internals and you would still have the freedom of getting office like apps with Google Drive or even KingSoft Office.  Great job Lenovo.
