Sony decided that all of their awesome achievements in optics wasn’t enough.   So they decided to push the envelope even further w/ their latest announcement.  Introducing the world’s 1st full-frame mirrorless cameras w/ the A7 and A7r.  Both shooters draw design inspiration from their NEX & RX line to create these.

The A7 sports a 35mm full-frame (of course) 24.3MP sensor and the A7r is definitely the more high-end of the two shooters as it is equipped w/ a 36.3MP sensor.

Both have an XGA Super OLED electronic viewfinder, 3inch tiltable LCD display, both are powered by Sony’s Bionz X image processor, ISO range from 100-25,600, can shoot 14-bit RAW images as well as take photos at 5 fps.   On the video side of things, both are recording 1080p at 24 or 60 fps and output 4K images.  Also the two are weather-sealed and have Wi-Fi + NFC support built-in.

Both the A7 + A7r will be available in December.  The A7 will ship w/ a 28-70mm f/3.5-f/5.6 lens for around $2,000 or you can just get the body for $1,700.  The A7r will launch w/ just the body only for $2,300.
