Yesterday, Google announced that they would be bringing their Google Play Movies & TV service to iOS. The search Giant has now ported most of their services so Apple for their customers to use. If you remember a few months back, Google also moved their music service, Play Music, as well as their streaming music service, All Access, to iOS. Google also sent Google Now over to iOS last year as well.
With this move, Google now offers a service for just about every Apple service on iOS. With the mass adoption of Google services such as Gmail, Google search and Chrome, it makes it all the easier to roll right into the rest of the suite of apps. To make the use all the easier, Google has made their iOS services compatible with Chromecast as well. Chromecast is Google’s inexpensive way to push content from your devices to you TV. You can pick up a Chromecast from the Play Store or most electronics retailers for $35.
What makes this move funny is that Apple refuses to allow any of their apps to move to other operating systems such as Android or Windows Phone despite iTunes users (most specifically) cries for more access. However, they continue to let Google migrate their apps into the App Store. Google is truly killing Apple services with kindness.
