Samsung was definitely paying attention on what they could improve in their Galaxy Camera series as today they unveil the sequel to it.  Introducing the Galaxy Camera 2: their new redesigned + lightweight, Android-powered point-and-shoot camera.  The new body resembles more of the faux leather of their NX series of shooters.  Samsung made sure to keep everything that worked well like the 4.8inch Super Clear LCD display and beef up the actual camera side of things a bit more.

The Galaxy Camera 2 also keeps the same 16.1MP 1/2.33inch sensor + 21x optical zoom but adds a brand new image processing system  that will greatly improve the quality of your photos.   You still have your pop-up Xenon flash t your disposal.  Samsung now offers a total of 28 smart scene modes for you to shoot with like a Selfie Alarm that takes 5 shots for you to choose from + Multi Motion Video that allows you to control the playback speed of your video ( fast or slow).  As well as being able to set different auto-focus + exposure points on the touchscreen.

Inside, it is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 2000 mAh battery that could get you up to 350 shots, runs Android 4.3 (huh?), adds NFC connectivity and 50GB of Dropbox storage to the mix.  No word as of yet on pricing for the Wi-Fi only model or the data connected one.  We expect carriers and Samsung to provide more details in the very near future.
