Joining the likes of Halo, Microsoft announced earlier this morning that they just acquired the rights of the Gears Of War franchise.  That means all of the Gears Of Wars rights to all of its previous and future games along w/ entertainment + merchandising is now under Microsoft.  Epic Studios will no longer be the game publisher as the Black Tusk Studios in Canada will be taking over.


Expect a new Gears Of War game to arrive for thew Xbox One later this year.
However, Epic will still be providing the inclusion of the Unreal Engine technology.For those of you who’ve never heard of Black Tusk Studios, don’t fret too much.  They are being led by former director of production for GOW when they were at Epic, Rod Fergusson.  
With the prequel GOW: Judgment set to be the last installment from Epic, we can now expect more games whether they be more prequels, continuations, or older one redone for next-gen consoles.  Microsoft says to expect more news about a new game later this year.
